Further Information
This camp is situated in the private Kwando
Reserve in the Linyanti area of northern Botswana between the Okavango and
Chobe. It lies on the shady bank of a permanent lagoon among tall African ebony
and marula trees. Guests stay in beautiful, ensuite tents on raised
platforms - and with only six tents in total, this small camp offers great
privacy and enormous charm. Each tent has a large bedroom area, entrance area,
ensuite bathroom and spacious outside shower.
The reserve combines a large stretch of river frontage with
floodplains and woodlands to the west of the Kwando River. The area is noted
in particular for its large elephant population and there are also good numbers
of impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, sitatunga, sable, roan, waterbuck,
buffalo and bushbuck. The major predators (lion, leopard, wild dog and hyena)
are regularly spotted. The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for the numerous
and diverse species of birds.
