Further Information

Lewa Wilderness is the old colonial home of the Craig family. Here, guests stay in one of just six ensuite rooms in stone and thatch cottages set amongst pretty gardens. Each cottage overlooks the deep valley that runs round the edge of the property and elephants and other game are regularly seen down at the small rushing river below. The lovely, ensuite rooms all have baths and showers - they're very pretty and well designed using locally made furniture.

The Lewa Downs Wildlife Conservancy is part of one of the first ranches to be established in Kenya. There is a very successful breeding rhino population here and a good chance of seeing all species indigenous to the northern Laikipia.

If you wish for meals to be served privately then there is a large veranda and a sitting/dining room where you can eat in private. The mature gardens are fabulous. There is a tennis court and a super swimming pool to relax by. The main house has big fireplaces, comfy sofas and many places in which to relax. Walking, riding safaris on well cared for horses, night drives and camel trekking are available and several days here will be easily filled.

  • Some of the best game in Africa

Why Not?
