Further Information
This lovely, private cottage nestles in a fold of the hills overlooking
Mount Kenya. The thatch, stone and wood cottage is set in a pretty garden with
well kept lawns and flower beds. The main living area is open plan with a dining
room and sitting room as well as an outside shaded sitting area. The main bedroom
has an ensuite bathroom with shower and flush loo. The second bedroom is on
a mezzanine balcony overlooking the main living area. It has its own bathroom
banda in the garden with a big stone bathtub and views across the garden and
out onto the ranch. The kitchen is across the drive along with staff accommodation.
All your food is prepared for you and a friendly man called Peter is at your
beck and call to look after your every need.
Your days are spent as you wish and you will have very easy access to all
the lodge facilities (swimming pool, tennis court, spa, shop and lovely bar
area) just 20 minutes drive away through the game-filled bush. Walking, game
viewing, horse riding, enjoying the big range of pampering treatments offered
by the spa, playing tennis, visiting the working ranch, spending a night at
the Starbeds, trekking with camels and visiting the local communities will
ensure that you won’t get bored.
Loisaba is a 61,000 acre, privately owned ranch
in the Laikipia region of Northern Kenya. The bulk of the land is untamed African
bush with a fantastic variety of game. Loisaba is also a working cattle ranch
and a fine example of sustainable land use.Crucially, because the land is privately
owned, there are no game park rules and this gives Loisaba’s visitors an extremely
rare opportunity to discover this magnificent area free from the restrictions
that are imposed in many other game-viewing regions.
Why?
- Wonderful private house in remote area
- A heavenly holiday retreat
Why Not?
- Some might find it a little bit too quiet and remote
