Further Information

Chelinda Lodge is located up on the beautiful and completely unspoilt Nyika Plateau. Built entirely of timber and stone in a traditional log cabin style it has what is probably one of the best views in Africa. There are eight individual log cabins each with a central dining area. Each cabin has a private veranda, open log fire and two floors - and there is also a family suite with two separate bedrooms.

All the cabins are connected by wooden walkways and are beautifully landscaped on the hillside. The main building has a large dining room, a comfortable sitting room and reception area. The catering is of the highest standard and includes a full English breakfast, cold lunches and three course dinners with coffee and tea at any time.

This is a wonderful base from which to head off and explore the stunning surroundings of Nyika Plateau, whether by foot, vehicle or on horseback. The riding here is absolutely super and the ideal way to experience this striking wilderness and its intriguing wildlife.

Why?

  • the only lodge in a beautiful and remote area
  • it is very rare to see such stunning scenery that is often likened to Scotland
Why Not?
  • can be very cold at night
  • although the game is interesting there is not a huge amount of variety
