Activities
Mvuu Lodge is situated on the banks of the Shire River in Liwonde National Park, Malawi's premier wildlife reserve. Mvuu offers exclusive accommodation in five spacious, luxurious tents, each with an ensuite bathroom and a private veranda raised over the lagoon, ensuring prime and discreet wildlife viewing. Lodge facilities include a dining room, bar and sitting area as well as a swimming pool. Activities include boating, game drives (morning, afternoon and evening), nature walks and bird watching. An excellent diversity of animals - including large numbers of elephant and sable antelope, hippo, impala and waterbuck - can be seen in the area. Huge crocodiles, leopard and serval are also fairly common. Birds are prolific especially along the Shire River, where the African Fish Eagle and the Pel's Fishing Owl are frequently sighted, as well as Bohm's Bee-eater, White Backed Night Heron and a host of local 'specials'.
