Further Information

Doro Nawas is a new camp located on a small, rocky outcrop in the dry Aba-Huab river valley in Damaraland and has magnificent views of the Etendeka Mountains and the distinctive, red sandstone of Twyfelfontein. Guests are accommodated in lovely, thatched huts constructed of stone, wood and canvas. The comfortable bedrooms lead out onto a private veranda and each unit has an ensuite bathroom with shower, double basins and flush loo as well as an outdoor shower.

The central camp area has an attractive courtyard, a swimming pool and both indoor and outdoor dining areas. Activities here include nature drives out into the region to look for the amazing desert-adapted elephants that inhabit Damaraland along with expeditions to Twyfelfontein to explore the remarkable San engravings and extraordinary prehistoric rock art that characterise this region.

Why?

  • A good stopover point to visit Damaraland from
  • Spacious airconditioned rooms
Why Not?
  • Quite large so can be busy and impersonal
