Further Information

This beautiful and unusual camp is not far from Twyfelfontein in South Damaraland. The camp nestles amongst huge, majestic boulders on a high up spot commmanding sensational views of the desert. It consists of twelve luxury, ensuite tents, each extremely well furnished and with private decks in front overlooking this incredible, ancient Damara landscape.

Mowani has a pool deck lodged between boulders, allowing guests to take a refreshing break from the heat of the day. The central area of the lodge is lovely and resembles an African village. Activities include nature drives with professional guides into the surrounding area in search of the amazing desert elephant. Guests can also go hiking amid this magnificent scenery or head off to see the famous rock paintings of the Twyfelfontein area.

Why?

  • Beautifully designed around the natural formation of this rocky area with wonderful views
Why Not?
  • Could be ruined if there are children there as the pool is very close to the main area of the camp
  • Management can be slack
