Further Information

Palmwag Rhino Camp is situated in northern Damaraland on the one million acre private Palmwag Reserve. The mobile tented camp is run in conjunction with Save the Rhino and offers a brilliant insight into the conservation of the region.

Whilst here, guests can go tracking with expert guides in search of the rhino and other game that inhabits the region. The area supports a prolific animal and birdlife owing to freshwater springs that allow a healthy game population to survive the otherwise harsh conditions. In fact the predator population here is second only in size to that of Etosha National Park.

Accommodation is in large Meru tents with ensuite bucket showers and hot water on call. The camp is solar powered and meals are served in a tented dining room with superb views over the desert and mountains. A percentage of each guest's revenue goes towards the work of the Save the Rhino Trust.

Why?

  • One of the only camps in Namibia where you can do guided Rhino trekking
Why Not?
  • Semi-permenant so maybe too basic for some
