Further Information
This amazing, isolated camp is set on the banks of the Kunene River on the
Angolan Border surrounded by rugged mountains and sand dunes. Only accessible
by aircraft, it is one of the remotest camps in Southern Africa and a remarkable
destination for those wishing to experience the ultimate wilderness. This region
is also the home of the wonderful, resilient and colourful Himba people, some
of the last nomadic people in Africa.
Nestled under big shady Albida trees overlooking the river, the camp has
eight luxury, ensuite double canvas and thatch chalets raised off the ground,
each with private bathroom. The camp also has a dining room, bar and small
swimming pool. Nature drives, bird watching, boating and fishing
are all on offer, as are exciting quad bike excursions for those feeling more
adventurous. Serra Cafema is often visited by the native Ovahimba families
who live in the nearby vicinity, which gives guests the opportunity to learn
about their lifestyle and traditions.
