Further Information

This relatively new camp is located in the extreme north of Kruger National Park in the Makuleke region and set in 24,000 hectares of some of the wildest and most scenic countryside in the park. The camp is actually built in land that is owned by the Makuleke people and so its existence is of huge importance to the local community and all the staff that are employed here are from this community.

Each of the tents is beautifully furnished with ensuite facilities, outside shower with wonderful views over the bush and on your private verandah you have large day beds and hammocks where you can relax. There are walkways between each of the rooms and on the east side there is the bush boma where there is a wonderfully cool plunge pool tucked under a tree and on the west side of the camp there is a large swimming pool for those wishing to take some exercise after all the delicious meals, especially brunch!

There is plenty to do here and the walking is wonderful in the riverbed and being such a remote camp its unlikely you'll see another guest. There are forrests full of fever trees which is the most memorable sight and whilst there you should ask to visit Crooks Corner which is where South Africa, Mozambique and Botswana meet - a beautiful area with wonderful birds.

Why?

  • Wonderfully remote unlike other camps in the Kruger
  • Commited to helping the local community
  • Fantastic birding and diverse landscapes
Why Not?
  • Not enough game for some
