Further Information
CC Africas Phinda Private Game Reserve is situated in the lush Maputaland
region in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Bordering the Greater St Lucia
Wetland Park a World Heritage Site Phinda comprises 18 500 hectares (45
711 acres) of prime conservation land. Seven distinct habitats shelter an abundance
of wildlife including Africas Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, black and
white rhino, buffalo) and over 380 bird species.
Phinda Forest Lodge, Phinda Mountain Lodge are all quite large camps with
over 16 suites, but there is Phinda Vlei Lodge or Phinda Vlei Lodge
with only 6 suites but if you are after real exclusivity then the place for
you is Phinda Zuka Lodge which has only 4 bush thatched cottages. Alternatively
you can take over the family house which is known as Phinda Getty House. As
with all the Pinda properties the standard of service and pan-african food
is very high and you will certainly get looked after very well on this huge
reserve.
Why?
- Stunning location
- Great style, food and service
- Private reserve
Why Not?
- Like a lot of the lodges in South Africa, its got a bit carried away with
the luxury rather than the true african bush experience
