Further Information

Grumeti River Camp is located in a remote valley in the western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. It overlooks a tributary of the famous Grumeti River, where thousands upon thousands of wildebeest, zebra and other animals pass each year during the annual Great Migration.

The camp has ten spacious and vibrantly decorated safari tents set under makuti canopies and nestled in the shade of tall trees along the river banks. They are well positioned to give guests great views of the many crocodiles and hippos that frequent the water. Each safari tent has an ensuite bathroom and an outside shower open to the sun and stars.

Solar power means no noise and the camp is lovely and tranquil in the evenings, with peaceful dining only interrupted by the noise of hippos and other game down by the river. The food is delicious and has a 'pan-African' theme as it is prepared in traditional stone ovens and served in an open dining area.

  • When the migration is in the area its a great place for game viewing
  • Chance of seeing Wildebeest crossing the crocodile infested waters
