Further Information
Sand Rivers is the most exclusive lodge in Selous. It is situated on a rocky
peninsula with spectacular views across the vast sweep of the Rufiji River,
where hippos, crocodiles and a fabulously diverse birdlife can be seen frequenting
the river banks. The camp is made up of just eight secluded cottages all
with ensuite bathrooms and stunning views over the river. There is
also a large open bar and dining area and a swimming pool set in the shade
of a large baobab tree. The cuisine is superb and the service is impeccable.
As well as game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, it is possible to go walking
in the bush with an armed guide or to do boat trips along the river. The
guiding at this lodge is exceptional and guests are sure to have a wonderful
safari experience in this incredibly diverse, game-filled region of Tanzania.
