The complete safari
We can only organise weddings as part of a fully inclusive safari
owing to the amount of behind-the-scenes activity to which we
become committed. We provide you with professional support
and assistance from the planning stages onwards and we can assist
with every aspect of your plans from taking care of your legal
arrangements, marriage fees and wedding plans to safari and lodge
bookings, flights, transfers and insurance
- and we can also organise your honeymoon, should you wish.
Timings
In most
cases the bride and groom have to be in the country where they
are getting married for the week preceding the wedding. Therefore,
we tend to suggest a 14 day trip where you spend the first few
days to a week together, say on safari, then head to the lodge
from where your wedding will be based. You can get married
in a beautiful location in the bush or you may wish to have a
wedding at the actual lodge. You can then honeymoon for the
rest of your time in Africa – a time when many people love
to head to the coast and islands – or indulge in some more
safari activities.
The ceremony
We know that some couples prefer a civil ceremony and others a
religious one so we are happy to arrange either - and we are pleased
to be able to cater for many denominations. If you have been
married before, some priests will not marry you although a civil
ceremony is always possible. If you have any queries, please
speak to us and we will be able to advise you.
Rules & regulations
Each country has its own marriage laws and procedures, which are
accompanied by a significant amount of red tape. We are very
familiar with all the rules and regulations so we know what is feasible
to arrange and at the same time, we are able to minimise the amount
of time you have to spend on paperwork. Special wedding licenses
are usually required and it is imperative that the formalities are
completed correctly. We take this burden away from you so
that you are free to focus on the more enjoyable aspects of your
wedding.
A legal marriage
Importantly, all weddings we arrange are legal when
you get home - something that is not always the case when getting
married abroad.
