Further Information

Sausage Tree Camp is in the Lower Zambezi National Park and is owner run. It has been built along the banks of the Zambezi river overlooking water with Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe on the opposite side of the river bank. South Luangwa National Park has high concentrations of lion and elephant plus a whole host of other game. It is a beautifully designed, romantic camp that is even better than the brochure depicts.

The accommodation is in large, open, white tents with stunning ensuite bathrooms and soft furnishings. One word of warning is that the tents are very spread out with many buffalo and elephant wandering between them during the day and night, which can be rather nerve-racking for people not used to this sort of thing (please ask if you are worried). The food here is fantastic as they have a wonderful friendly Chef who was trained in Paris who you will meet when he proudly announces your dinner each evening.

Why?

  • The camp is perfectly located on the banks of the Zambezi in the heart of the National Park
  • Delicious food and great service
  • Spacious and romantic bedouin tents
Why Not?
  • The bedouin tents are set back from the river so don't offer river views
  • Not for the faint hearted as Buffalo and Elephant roam freely through the camp
  • Verging on pretentious
